Occasionally is an anglophone reading series organized by Matthew Rana and hosted by Rönnells Antikvariat. Readings will take place on four occasions this spring: 27/2; 14/3; 10/4; and 8/5.
Mia You is author of the poetry collections Festival (Belladonna* Collaborative, 2024) and I, Too, Dislike It (1913 Press, 2016), as well as the chapbooks Rouse the Ruse and the Rush (Nion Editions, 2023) and Objective Practice (Achiote Press, 2007). Her poems have appeared in Boston Review, Chicago Review, Cordite Poetry Review, the PEN Poetry Series, and Poetry. She currently teaches Anglophone literature at the Universiteit Utrecht and in the Critical Studies program at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam.
Jennifer Hayashida is a poet, translator, and artist, born 1973 in Oakland California, today based in Stockholm. Her debut collection A Machine Wrote This Song was published in 2018 by Gramma Poetry/Black Ocean, and in 2020 her chapbook essay The Translator as Archive / Archives that Translate was published by ideella föreningen Autor (Gothenburg). She translates between and across Swedish and American English and works with, among others, Merima Dizdarević, Athena Farrokhzad, Don Mee Choi, and Kim Hyesoon. Hayashida is an instructor in the creative writing program at Nordens Folkhögskola Biskops Arnö and is a PhD candidate at HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design at the University of Gothenburg, where she is conducting the artistic research project Feeling Translation.
